A harness is a better way to walk your dog because the harness spreads any pressure around your dog's entire body. It also gives you better control over a dog who likes to jump or run. That will give you the best chance to keep your dog safe while walking them.
If you have a dog, you should make sure that you have both a collar and a harness for your dog. If you aren't sure if the collar or harness will fit your dog, you can take a measuring tape and measure around their neck and their body and use those measurements when you're at the store.
